The choice of fiberglass over concrete is a debatable issue for home. The concrete is always a preferred material for construction of buildings but now a days fiberglass has taken over at some places like swimming pools and bird baths. Fiberglass is also used at places where repairs and maintenance is required like the ducting and piping areas as these can be dismantles easily.

But the most important place where fiberglass has become more popular over the concrete is the swimming pool. Though fiberglass pools may be bit more expensive than concrete pools yet in the long run they become cheaper. The fiberglass pools don’t require acid washes or periodic resurfacing. The fiberglass pools consume less energy than the concrete pools so the energy bills are low.

The fiberglass pool has a smooth surface than concrete pool. The fiberglass pools are also suitable for the places which have frequent earthquakes. The algae growth can be easily brushed away from the fiberglass pool so there also it comes out to be economical.
All said and done, there are people who still love the old traditional concrete pools that give them a scratch on their bodies.
